Here are examples of recent Empowered Learning Groups.
Resourcing Your Artistry hosted by the Arts & Business Council of Greater Boston
Focus: This program focused on practicing techniques that support and nourish both artistry and wellbeing.
An artistic life is demanding with ongoing expectation to perform at a high level, learn quickly, exude creativity under pressure, and navigate a complex landscape of relational dynamics. A balanced and steady mindset is key to sustained creativity and productivity.
Participants developed skills to navigate the waves of practice, performance, critique, and growth.
Format: 60 minute monthly meetings for 6 months supplemented by 16 optional drop-in sessions. All sessions were virtual.
Participants: A cohort of 6 BIPOC creative entrepreneurs
Meditate with Friends
Focus: This program explored meditation techniques in an intentional and safe community space and included instruction, guided practice, and ample time to ask questions and share experiences.
While often considered a solitary activity, meditation is highly relational–it influences our relationship with ourselves (inner narratives, self talk) and interactions with others (individuals and groups). Participants explored meditation through both individual and relational practice.
Format: Five weekly 75 minute sessions supplemented by audio/video resources. All sessions were virtual.
Participants: Adults from Germany, Guatemala, and the United States who wanted to develop their meditation skills alongside community friendship and accountability.
